High-level talks between the United States and China entered their second day in Madrid on Monday, with discussions centered on trade, the economy, and the future of TikTok, Bloomberg reported.
The Chinese delegation, led by Vice Premier He Lifeng, is in Spain until Wednesday for meetings with US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Trade Representative Jamieson Greer. Officials are also expected to prepare the ground for a potential meeting between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping, which could take place as early as October during a summit in South Korea.
